Walking. Jogging. Running.
Putting on your ruunning shoes and going around the neighborhood may not be as adventuresome as hiking in parks and trails, but you can still get almost the same health benefits and physical fitness. A good hour of walking can burn up to 380 calories. Jogging and running can burn much more than that.
One of the drawbacks of walking around the neighborhood is that it becomes more difficult when the weather is not ideal. When the weather is bad or if the winter season has begun, it is more difficult to go out and run around the neighborhood (this is the reason why the treadmill is so popular). Walking or jogging around the neighborhood is a healthy alternative to sitting on your couch and doing nothing. Plus, it is free.
